Already Thinking About Next Year

We had such a great time putting on this exhibition earlier this year, and it was so well attended & received that it seems like we just HAVE to do it again next year...maybe even make it an annual thing.   We're beginning to brainstorm a couple new creative directions for it already. So check back with us in the fall, and we'll have more details. Enjoy the rest of this insanely hot summer.

More Interviews Coming Soon

Although the show ended last week, we still have a few artist interviews to post and will do so over the next couple of weeks. We want you to get to know more of these talented people. We have loved getting to know them and it has been our privilege to join with them in the Via Crucis experience.

We'll be publishing some more photos of their works as well and will even begin talking about our next project and Via Crucis 2013 soon. Stay tuned!

The Show Goes On

Although the craziness of our First Friday opening reception has passed, all 15 pieces are still on display and the full curation is still in place at NOW ArtSpace. If you haven't had a chance to experience it yet, the gallery will be open Thursday, Friday & Saturday this week for you to do so.

And if you did join us on First Friday, come on back and enjoy a slower, quieter time and immerse yourself in the art. It's a deeply moving exhibit that rewards the viewer who fully engages the story.

It Was Good Indeed!

We had such an amazing opening reception last night! Thank you to all of you who came. We estimate nearly 1000 people came through the doors! That's crazy! Great conversations, great connections, and great stories were the order of the evening.

The exhibit is open again today from 11a-6p. Join us if you can and be a part of the story.

Why is it Called Good?

Sometimes it seems like Good Friday is misnamed. After all, it commemorates something really bad - violence - injustice - death. How are those things good? Some traditions call it Mourning Friday or Black Friday - both seem to fit better.

But can something good come out of something bad? That's just one question to explore inside the Via Crucis exhibit. The gallery is open until 10p for tonight's opening reception. The art will be there and so will the artists. So come explore the story and rub shoulders with some very talented emerging & established Denver artists.

What Does Maundy Mean?

Today is referred to as Maundy Thursday in some Christian traditions. Although the name may sound weird, it points to a critical moment for people of that faith. Maundy is derived from the Latin word mandatum which means commandment. It's use on this day of the year, points to Jesus washing the feet of his friends and then telling(commanding) them to do the same thing to others. Jesus, their leader, took the posture of a servant and called his friends to live in that same posture.

Don't worry though, we won't try to wash your feet if you come by the Via Crucis exhibit today. We will, however, connect your footprints to those of millions of other sojourners throughout history - even if only symbolically. How will that happen? Stop by the gallery anytime between 12:30 & 8p today and find out.

Spy Wednesday

Did you know that today is sometimes referred to as Spy Wednesday? The designation points to Judas' conspiring with the Sanhedrin enroute to his eventual betrayal of Jesus. An image of antiquity paints it this way:

The betrayal of Jesus is Station #2 in the Via Crucis exhibition. The artist who created the piece for it has herself been a victim of betrayal. It was a difficult work for her to paint...and yet an important one. Stop by tonight anytime from 5-8p at NOW ArtSpace, and see how she paints this painful personal experience.
